Switching to Zinc.

So zinc is cheaper, at 2 dollars a pound, instead of 18 dollars a pound for the pewter.  On top of that, it looks nicer.  It took a while to figure out how to melt, because of the higher temperature, but we now know how to melt it.

Here’s a comparison.  The circle on the right is pewter.  The blob on the left is zinc.  As you can see, the zinc is a lot cleaner and better looking.

New Section Added

As you can see, at the top of the page, there is a new “Project” section.  There, you can see all that I’m currently working on, along with past projects.  Real simple.  More updates to come soon.

Practice makes perfect.

And I need quite a bit of practice.

In light of this, we’re going to practice with more basic shapes, instead of advanced stuff, until we can get the hang of just pouring pewter evenly.
